  1. Money doesn't really buy freedom because…what is freedom? If you buy land in the US do you even own it? Wait, what? You gotta pay taxes on it yearly? What happens to your land and to you if you refuse to pay taxes every year for land you "own"? How many countries allow you to buy land and not pay taxes on it?
Antarctica is a very large chunk of land. Antarctica is not owned by any countries. Yet it is illegal for you to go there. How does that work?
What is civil asset forfeiture? How does it affect people who prove they are innocent?

Since 1927 or so, money has no longer been backed by gold. So What is money? What would happen if Elon or Bill or Jeff went to their banks and asked to cash out all their billions into fiat?

Freedom… keep thinking you are free.

  2. Money gives you freedom of choosing what you want to do where you want to live , what hobbies you can do , what type of foods you can eat , and being short on it and worrying about how your going to pay bills is extremely stressful, So yes it does by happiness in my opinion!

  3. Happiness is definitely more important. I quit my day job as an architect and become a freelance comic illustrator. My income drop so I cut all the unnecessary expenses. However, my mental and emotional health is greatly improved. I do not have anxiety and stress and I am looking forward to every new day. If you are not happy in your day job, you exchange not just the time but your mental health for the money. If it prolongs, it can lead to depression.

  4. Everyone saying that money buys happiness or buys freedom is WRONG. Money only equals happiness when the thing making you money also makes you happy

Sure, if you’re dirt poor then you may have a difficult time being happy but you certainly do not have to be rich to pay your bills. There are many people financially secure that are also miserable

  5. Gary, i think you are messing with my brain. I've always wanted to be rich. That hasn't changed. I'll be graduating this year and my aim is to become rich by the time I'm 27. I don't know the means, but i just want to.
