Awesome Tip: #AskGaryVee Episode 86: Passive Income, Foreign Languages & How to Delegate

#QOTD: What is your immediate dream right now? The one right in front of you at this very moment. In six days or six months it will change but I want to know what it is right now.

1:45 – Do you have any tips on delegation?
2:45 – Isn’t working long hours an old school mindset? Why not focus on building wealth via passive income?
5:30 – What athlete, past or present, embodies hustle for you?
6:25 – Could you say couple of words in Russian at your show? What value do you find in knowing a foreign language?

Clouds & Dirt:
How to ask a question:

The best piece of advice i can give on delegating is very much up in the clouds, but you know me: I’m a clouds and dirt guy. 😉 I’m pretty great at delegating, and I’ll tell you the middle one rule to delegating well: recognize that 99.9% of things don’t mean shit. If you actually think it’s not that important, it becomes a hell of a lot easier to let someone else do it. If you recognize that someone else’s 7.7 point skills are completely acceptable for a task in place of your 10 point skills, do it. It’s all about humility. Ego is the issue with delegation. Even though I have a ton of ego, I have a boatload more of humility than you think.

  1. #QOTD The one thing I want to accomplish is being in control of my life. Meaning eat off of something I built a business for example. My goal is just to live on my terms right now I'm not doing so, I believe I have a lot of work to do.

  2. Get into cannabis or real estate is my answer.

I have owned a vape shop for almost 3 years and now am branching into a Hemp company as regulations come down on the vaping industry.

I have watched every Daily Vee and now I am working my way through every single ask GV show.

  3. Great episode Gary and even greater QOTD! I enjoyed reading the comments and what the rest of VaynerNation dreams of doing with their lives. My answer is to connect everyone in the USA at scale. It sounds far-fetched, like a dream, but I think of it more as a plan because 1) I have confidence that if anyone is able to accomplish it the way I plan to at the depth I want, I am the one to do it and 2) I am already making progress towards this goal which is still 2-3 years out anyways. I have time to hustle and build leverage through one-on-one marketing as well as accessing a broader sponsorship. I have the patience needed to use my time until execution to build the awareness I will need to make it as valuable content as possible to a broader audience. When it comes the point to move this mountain, I will be coming with thunder so watch for me in 2021.

  4. Yo Gary! Started watching from episode one and I have been hooked ever since. First time commenting though. I want to run my own business! It has been constantly changing but I do have some stuff in the works. Tripling down on my strengths. Look forward to giving you more banter once I get caught up to the more recent episodes! THANK YOU

  5. #QOTD Personaly I want to build my girlfriend up so she can be independent and feel happy about that and make her own choices in life.
Workwise, I am rebuilding a housing project and I just want to get through it, cuz there are a million things that just keep popping up and surprising and delaying it

  6. I want to be a well-known and respected musician, who has the ability to endlessly create impactful melodies and lyrics, and who is also known for his music marketing and business skills, and who goes around the world speaking at events about how his success was made.

  7. #QOTD,
    1. Grow my fan base to 100,000 across platforms (will probably take me about a year).
    2. Grow my current fitness franchise to 20 operating businesses
    3. Completely pay off my business (and personal) debt.

Thanks for the inspiration and the knowledge man. You've inspired me to do the same for others. Keep hustling.

  8. Web 2.0 language learning network across Australia and East & Southeast Asia. Also, I'd have to disagree to a certain extent when it comes to translation tech. Translating ear pieces, like translating apps, will be useful in tourist contexts but if you want to really connect with someone you need to speak their language. And few people speak 'standard' any language. It'll probably be just before robots take over that translation tech understands and correctly navigates dialects, idioms, metaphors, cultural context, innuendo, slang, non-verbal cues etc.

  9. Going back to the second question, would you be able to go more in-depth about your thoughts on passive income, and maybe the best way to earn it. Currently at university and looking for a way to make money from home whilst I'm studying. what would be your suggestion? Thanks

  10. Not only do I want to succeed myself but I mainly want to succeed so that if one one my loved ones needs some help I can give them the leverage by asking people who follow me their opinions on the matter.
